Why was she so important to be buried under the high altar of the Cathedral of Rouen?
She was a great woman, missed Queen of England, born and grown up in the walls of Hauteville Court in Conversano.
After about one thousand years, Professor Carmine Liuni, a world famous agronomist and keen on the subject, went to Normandy and discovered a tombstone under the high altar of the cathedral of Rouen with the following epigraph: “Sybille of Hauteville from Conversano…”
From this moment on a research has been started about this noble woman, celebrated in the chronicles of that period for her extraordinary beauty and intelligence.
Dora Liguori found out about this story and decided to dedicated to her a novel “Sybille of Hauteville, Countess of Conversano, Duchess of Normandy” which tells her suggestive life.
